Essay 1.1
My name is Benjamin Romero, but my friends call me Benji, I am Mexican- American. I was born on December 8th 1988 which makes me 18. I was born in Manhattan but raised in Queens Astoria which I consider is a really boring borough but calm and my neighbors are easy going. I moved out my parents’ house when I was 17 as soon after graduating high school and moved in with my brother Max, he is 21 he attends St. Johns University and he is an accountant major. Even though my parents being so supportive of my brother and me, they still help us sometimes with any problems we have. So really having 2 people living under one household and attending college you can imagine how hard it is to keep up with our payments. Even though throughout the week we barely see each other due to being full time students and work part time jobs on nights and weekends. Are house parties are crazy we have a blast but cleaning the apartment after is the hardest part. My goals in life for now are finishing my two years here in LaGuardia and then transferring to four year school, my options right now are Queens College or Oswego. I’m a Liberal Arts Major but soon transferring to my major Business Management. I have been to many different places, such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Paris, and Italy which I have to say is one of the best places in the world to visit. I am looking forward to the theme of this semester which is a cluster program. Even though most of the courses work throughout the semester is online which I have to say is difficult for me since I really am not that good with computers but I am a fast learner so hopefully it will be a good experience for me an a easy “A” for the course. From looking at the course documents and for the blogs I see that for one of our assignments is were we are collecting all the trash we consume in 48 hours and place it in a white clear plastic bag and at the end we weigh it to see how much trash we consumed and calculating how much trash we consume in a year. I find that very interesting to know how much trash I will consume in two days also then calculating that into a year. I will find that breath taking and I guess it will change my ways I dispose of my trash and the way’s I act. From what I see this course is exciting from all the class trips we are attending and from the hilarious professor of Mass Media from being a germ stressor and to my English professor who from the criteria he has provided for his course, I see is fun and can not wait for those class field trips. I am looking forward to this theme and excited to attend every class.
